I recently purchased a laptop primarily to do powerpoint
slideshow presentations. I was told that windows xp
doesn't do powerpoint. Is there an alternative on xp and
if so what is it called. I cant find it. Ta, Jason

Powerpoint XP is wonderful. Some versions of Office XP
come with Powerpoint (some do not) OR Powerpoint XP can be
purchased separately.

You laptop didn't come with PowerPoint installed, probably. PowerPoint is
an application is not part of Windows XP, which is your operating system.
You'll need to purchase either standalone PowerPoint, or a version of the
Microsoft Office Suite that includes PowerPoint.

Windows XP is the operating system, it does not have PowerPoint.

Office XP is the suite of products including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Yes, this is confusing.

Office 2003 is to be released for retail sale any day now. You can buy the
suite, or you can buy PowerPoint by itself and load it onto your laptop. It
will run well. :-)
