Purchased Office xp and loaded onto my PC but I can't
load and register it onto my laptop (for presentations)
because the Product Key code is already registered (to
the PC). What can I do? What would happen if I purchased
a new PC 1 year from now, is the whole Office xp software
useless?

Read the End User License Agreement (EULA). It usually says that you can
install it on one desktop and one laptop. But if you're having difficulty,
the best thing is to call Microsoft.

Contact Microsoft - Support, Sales, Replacement Media, etc.

Assuming that your EULA allows you to install on one desktop and one
laptop, simply use the phone option to register Office on the laptop.
The licensing person should give you a key for the laptop. I've done it
before, and it was pretty painless. :-)
