For printed material i set up photoshop documents at 300ppi, for online
images, use 72ppi. If i am creating a powerpoint presentation to beused on a
plasma TV, what ppi setting should I use?

Thanks

The more important setting is to check the page setup of the presentation so
it matches the display size (aspect ratio). As example: more plasma and lcd
TV's are a widescreen aspect ratio, so the presentation should be changed to
match in the page setup to 16"x9" (there are other variables that can affect
this).

Make sure your source is sending a 16:9 signal (ex: 1280x720) to the display.
Otherwise, content with a Page Setup of 16:9 could be stretched even thinner
than sending a standard 10x7.5 (4:3) file if the source is 1024x768 for
example. This is one of the variables Troy refers to.
