I recently upgraded to PPT 2007 and am running Windows XP on a new Dell
Vostro 420. In PPT, when I attempt to record narration on my slides I get the
error:
PPT is not receiving sound from the microphone. Try one of the following and
then try to set the microphone level again. *In Control Panel (Windows Start
menu, Settings submenu) double-click Multimedia. On the Audio tab, check the
Recording settings. * On the Language Bar, click on the microphone button to
turn off Office Speech Recognition.
(These seem to be instructions for Vista, not XP...??)
Anyone have any experience here? I spent an hour on the phone with Dell
troubleshooting my hardware, it is fine, as is the microphone.
I am also experiencing (for the first time since this upgrade) a problem in
Camtasia Studio. All my record narration options are grayed out. TechSmith is
pointing a finger at the Realtek soundcard installed in my new computer...
Ideas anyone? Thanks!!!
