Powerpoint new & old, Compatible or not?

I have the Microsoft XP but no Power Point, and a friend bought me Power
Point 2000, and I wanted to know if it was compatible.
What exactly will P.P. 2000 work with? Thanks for any help you can be.

PowerPoint 2000 will work with Windows 95 and later. It's quite happy under
Windows XP. No worries.
