powerpoint locks up

when working with powerpoints they all seem to eventually
lock up the cpu goes to 100% for the ppt app and it never
recovers.
 
That has been happening to me for the last 18 months. I
have two dual processor machines and they lock up
regularly. Went up through Microsoft talking to second
level tech support, they simulated my systems and said
yes, there is a problem and they are not going to fix
it. We are up a creek with no paddle. Sorry.
