Please can someone help me. My daughter is trying to enter a powerpoint
competion. She enters the file ****.pptx and hits enter and we get
Error invalid filetype. What are we doing wrong?

Which version of PowerPoint do you have? The extension you provided belongs
to PowerPoint 2007.

I had the 2003 version which saved the file as .ppt as that didn't work I
upgraded to the 2007 version and saved the file as a .pptx file

How did you upgrade the file if you could not open it in either 2003 or
2007? I would not mind having a look at the file if it is not to large. If
you want to send it, use the same subject line, and send it to
(e-mail address removed)

I have sent you the file. But I can open it in both formats its uploading it
to the competion that it has the problem

Received and opened the file with no problems. You never mentioned earlier
that the problem was not with PowerPoint, but in transferring the file to
wherever the competition is. How about telling us where your getting and
what your receiving as error messages. also how your trying to send it to
wherever your sending it.

error : invalid filetype
Press back and try again

Thats the error message.

When I go into the website to enter the comp, it says enter the file that
must be a .ppt or .pptx (which it is) and I do then it comes back with the
above message

The problem is not with PowerPoint. There must be a contact on the site
where you can report problems to. could you provide us with a link to the
site so we can see what is happening?
