When I receive a PowerPoint slide show in my OE e-mail I have to save it in
My Pictures before it can be opened with the PowerPoint reader installed on
my PC. How can I make that reader accessible directly from OE?

I would not advise that ever.
You should always save your attachments before attempting to open them - for
various reasons.

How are you trying to open the file in OE? You need to double click the
*.pps file to open the slide show. This should work from within OE.

Didn't think about the safety aspect. Will do as you advise from now on.
Thanks for the valuable input.

Right click the attachment "Open" or double click. Both ways get the usual
"Do you want to open this file?" box. Click the "Open" button in that box
and then get a box that says "This file does not have a program associated
with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder
Options control panel". I checked that but found nothing related to this
problem. PowerPoint attachments open with no problem once saved in My
Pictures.

Hi Jay Cee,

For PPTViewer 2003 & XP SP2, see:
