Hi, there,

I make presentation and include pics into it. The problem is that when I add
a jpg that takes approx. 150KB the presentation grows by several MB. Thus by
adding approx. 4 MB of pics I have ended with 500 MB !!! presentation.
Zipping does not help. Does anyone know how to fix it (I have already turned
off "Fast save" option).

By chance are you pasting these images onto the slides? That will do what
you are describing.

Instead, do Insert > Picture > from file. This way, the file will grow as
you would expect.

In addition to what John and TAJ have suggested, are you by chance saving your file so that it is backward compatible with PowerPoint 95. This will also increase your filesize.

Thanks a lot.
I used the method "drag and drop", had no idea it makes the difference.

In addittion to all that has been said, if youare resizing your
pictures to be smaller after instering them, then you will find a big
benefit in .ppt filesize if you resize the source file first (use a
copy of it) in paint shop and then insert it. This is because
powerpoint will still store all the pixels, even if it will never show
them
