Hello i was wanting to use powerpoint to set up a little kiosk
application. I have a powerpoint show that works great by itself but
i want it to time out when no one is using it and start another
powerpoint show. The second show will basicly be tell passers by to
click it to start the first show. Is there an add in or a way to do
this. please help.... thank Kyle

Combine both shows together with the "browsed show" to be at the end of the
looping presentation. Mark all the slides in the "browsed show" to be hidden
and set up all these slides to be a custom show. Add an action button on the
main master slide of the looping presentation that goes to the custom show
and make sure you select show and return. Under Setup Show, check the loop
until ESC box.

What you should end up with is a looping presentation with an action button
on each slide that when pressed will jump to the interactive presentation and
return to the looping presentation after it is viewed.

Will they have to view the interactive presentation in its entirety?
because what im wanting is for people to use the interactive
presentation and stop where ever they want and regardless where they
do end up i want it to timeout to the looping presentation.

Use the same technique, but also add a timer to the interactive presentation.

See:http://pptfaq.com/FAQ00081.htm

Tushar Mehta's timer add-in should do what you want quite nicely and is very
inexpensive
I got really excited for a little bit there, but this timer isnt
working. I dont know if its because im using office 2007 or maybe the
file is just bad....... can anyone help with that?

It happens that I was testing Tushar's timer for a project in 2007.
It works here. What specific problem are you having with it?

You'll need to make a few changes to the default security settings before it'll
install properly. Do: Office button, PowerPoint Options, Trust Center, Trust Center
Settings, Macro Settings and choose "Enable all macros".

Then add the add-in.

Once you have it working, you can reset Macro Settings to "Disable with notification"
and the timer should continue to function.
