I have a presentation that is corrupt. It is 375 slides
long. It has completely disabled my PPT. Everytime I try
to open a presentation it tries to go into safe mode. It
then hangs my computer where I eventually get a blue
screen of death. Any ideas? PS: I have done the
standards fixes, re-isntalled, etc. JAA

Can you open other presentations? What OS and version of Ppt?

What kind of free space is available on the HDD, and how much memory do you
have? Maybe you need to clean out the temp folder, empty the browser cache,
and defrag. Can't hurt, anyway.

Is the file on your local HDD? If it's on the lan, get it local and try
again.

And the million dollar question: Can you get to the backup file? ;-)
(sorry...had to ask.)

If I am understanding your problem, it is that PowerPoint won't run
correctly regardless of the presentation you open. Is this correct? Can
you open PowerPoint directly without a presentation?

Possible solutions ---

Try to force PowerPoint into Safe mode:

Does it open? If so, does it give you an error message telling you what is
acting up?

Have you been able to do a detect and repair on PowerPoint?

Have you tried to uninstall and erase from registry, before reinstalling?
