PowerPoint freezes during animations

Never had any problems before with PowerPoint (I'm currently using the 2003
version).

However, I recently created a small presentation and on one of the bullet
point slides used the custom animation facility to dissolve in each bullet
point following a mouse click. All was fine when setting up and testing etc
but when I came to try the slides in slide show mode, the show froze half
way through the first animation dissolve. I had no other applications
running on my Windows XP Pro laptop (fully updated) and plenty of RAM (2GB).

I changed some of the animations to Entrance Appear and that seemed to work
fine, but the show still froze on other dissolve ins.

I've often used such dissolve animations in the past - inc this laptop and
this version of PP - without any problems.

Any ideas please?

The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed a PowerPoint
add-in - Shyam's No Escape add-in that disables the Escape key -

Do you think that could be causing the problem?
