hello

i have a document (in powerpoint - office xp) in which i have ca 30 links to charts in file b1.xls
i would like to multiply this document (ppt) 20 times but each copy should refer to another excel file (b2.xls, b3.xls....)

refering to this i have question: is there any possibility to edit a edit a link to a chart

i.e.
i have group of links:
C:\...\b1.xls!costs![b1.xls]costs Chart 1
C:\...\b1.xls!costs![b1.xls]costs Chart 2
C:\...\b1.xls!costs![b1.xls]costs Chart 3

....

and i would like to change links by editing it to a group:
C:\...\b2.xls!costs![b2.xls]costs Chart 1
C:\...\b2.xls!costs![b2.xls]costs Chart 2
C:\...\b2.xls!costs![b2.xls]costs Chart 3

so i ask - is there possibility to make it automatically? or how can do it as quick as possible?

!! - sometimes chart No in b1.xls do not refer to chart No in other b(x).xls -> in such a case an edition would be as following:

i.e.
C:\...\b1.xls!costs![b1.xls]costs Chart 2
to:
C:\...\b2.xls!costs![b2.xls]costs Chart 3

doing this excel files would be open in order to check propriety of chart number

big thanks for help

regards

See if Links on the PowerPoint Edit menu works for you. It is supposed
to allow you to change the workbook your chart is linked to, but I found
it uncooperative, taking about aq dozen tries, and only working if the
new source workbook was open and the od one closed. Then the updated
chart wasn't centered in the picture, and you could see some of the
worksheet peeking around it.

I usually do this with static pictures of charts. If I need to update, I
run a macro with a table that tells me where to get the chart (which
workbook, which sheet) and where to put it (which slide, where on the
slide, how big). It's as fast as working with reliable links, and faster
than working with grouchy links.
