We have 2 citrix servers that when you exit out of
Powerpoint XP the program exits ok but an error message
occurs. If you click don't send message goes away and if
you unchecked the restart button its ok. The exact arror
in the application event log is: Event ID: 1000 Source:
MS 10 Description:Faulting application powerpnt.exe,
version 10.0.4205.0, faulting module unknown, version
0.0.0.0, fault address 0x011c0453.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thank You!!

Thats for the info but Powerpoint errors when exiting
even when a presentation is not opened. We also have 5
other servers that do not have an issue.

Sounds silly I know, but just because there is no presentation open, does
not mean that there are not any files being accessed over the network.

In any case, did you do a detect and repair on the PowerPoint installation
(with admin priv)?

What is the default presentation path (Tools | Options | {tab}Save | Default
path)? This still might direct the default presentation to the network

Is there a printer that has been locally installed on the server (even if it
has been removed after installation)? If there is no printer installed
locally, PowerPoint may be trying to find one.

If none of these work, and uninstalling Office and reinstalling does not
work, then I am at a loss for the cause. Perhaps someone else from the NG
will have better ideas.

Let me start by saying I do not know. But it would seem reasonable that the
Citrix servers are accessing most of the files over a network. As a general
rule, PowerPoint does not play well with networks.

Is it possible to try a file saved to the Citrix server and see if closing
the presentation faults?
