I am running an NT4 environment with Office XP on XP clients (And boy
is it FUN!) and my users have a global template folder on the network
for shared templates.

Now, one of the users would like to publish some global "design"
templates, but none of them appear, which have also been included into
the same folder and a folder under that folder called "Powerpointed"
(?) yet nothing shows up.

But when I go to the bottom of the Browse... for "Apply a design
template" it doesnt default to the network share specified.

So I am wondering, where abouts do you specify for the location of the
design templates?

Thats great Sonia! Thanks for that!

How would I go about changing the location specified?

You can't, as far as I know. There may be a setting in the Registry
somewhere, but if there is I can't find it.

You can always put a shortcut to the global templates in each person's
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates
folder. Call it "Global Templates". When they select Format > Slide Design
and click on the Browse link at the bottom of the Task Pane, they'll see
"Global Templates" in the list and can click on the shortcut to access the
global templates.

Well, if anyone is interested.
All you have to do is put the design templates under the User Templates
folder.

But unfortunately thats not specified under the application itself!

As I recall, that will vary depending on the version of Windows. That's why
I always give the "generic" steps for identifying where to save them.
