I posted earlier about having a problem with delays (by up to 3 seconds) after each slide. Someone said that the graphics sizes could be too large...so I took care of that...and it is STILL having a 3 second delay...even though when I rehearse I click immediately. Any other ideas on what could be causing this????

Hi,

Sorry mate, but I don't remember the original thread. What version?

Sounds like the presentation is waiting on something. Are there any sounds
used in the transitions? Any sound files or narrations used? How about
animations? Are there any that take time to complete? Are you using an
animation on the Master, or an animation scheme? All of these would also
cause PowerPoint to hang for a few seconds after a new slide is displayed?

Also, are you using Norton or any other anti virus software? These can
cause delays as files are scanned?

What are your system resources? How much RAM, CPU speed, HDD space? Have
you cleaned out your temp files recently? Does your Hard Drive need
defragmented?

How large is the presentation? are there any links that are trying to
update?

Obviously, there are a lot of things that can cause PowerPoint to perform at
a reduced level. I'd start wading my way thru these ideas. If you need
help with these, look on the faq (www.pptfaq.com) for suggestion on how.
