I have this problem on PowerPoint XP (MS Office XP
Professional), when ever I run the presentation in Slide
Show mode I can't move to any of the other slides in the
presentation. The error that I get is "PowerPoint Couldn't
create a hyperlink to ." this pops up on an OK dialog box.

This happens even with a newly created presentation with
only three slides and text (no pictures or links). I have
installed all of the Office and Windows update,
uninstalled and reinstalled Office. The ppt files work
fine on other computer so I know that the problem is not
with the files

Here's an answer from the PowerPoint FAQ at http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/

Solution
Try these suggestions from Microsoft at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:
80/support/kb/articles/q237/4/70.asp
(use Method 2: Extract the HLINK.DLL file rather than reinstalling Explorer
5)
