POWERPOINT COPY AND PASTE

I copy an image in one slide then paste it into another slide.
Instead of pasting the one item, I get the item pasted in PLUS I get
the logo that is already on the slide moved to a different spot on the
slide, enlarged, and I also get a blank box across the top for
inserting text.

Needless to say, this all but renders Powerpoint USELESS.

How do I fix this and why does microsoft keep changing its programs
when the old programs worked JUST FINE?!?

Sounds like you copying the whole slide, and not just the image. Make sure that
the image your copying is not grouped with your logo. Click the image, you
should see 6 formatting points around the image. right click, and select copy.
then in your new presentation select paste, or Ctrl+V

Sounds like you have PowerPoint's auto-arrange function enabled. When you
paste the new object in, it shifts and resizes everything to make room for
it.

Under the tools menu, try turning this 'helpful feature' off.

You may also want to check a few other items to make your future easier,
too.

Using PowerPoint 2002 or later?

If so, try this:

Choose Tools, AutoCorrect Options
Click "AutoFormat As You Type"
Remove the checkmark next to "Automatic layout for inserted objects"
Click OK

Try pasting again. My money's on "Alllllll better now"
