I have Office 2000 and Powerpoint. Everything was
working fine. I suddenly could no longer download clip
art nor could I even open the clip art that I had saved
in a folder. I received the message "Clip Gallery was
unable to access a clip catalog. This could be a problem
due to a network resource or a removable storage device.
Check all connections and try again."
Of course, I don't have a removable storage device and my
network works fine. It's a simple home wireless network
going out on a cable WAN connection. No problem surfing
the web or getting emails.
I went to the FAQ and found that I probably have a
corrupted "artgal50.mmc" file and should rename and
restart. Of course there is no such file on my hard
drive or on the install CD. So I reinstalled Office 2000
and SP-1, then SP-3. Still have the problem. There are
some other similar problems that say to double click on
the artgalry.exe and I found something that is
called "cag.exe" but double clicking does nothing.
Of course I am in the middle of a critical presentation
that was supposed to get done last night and am just
plain stuck for the moment. Ideas?
