Powerpoint can't read file

Help. I'm working with a client on a Powerpoint presentation. We both use Powerpoint 2003. Yesterday, the company sent me a draft of the presentation. I opened and reviewed without problem. Today, I was sent a revised draft. When I tried to open I received the error "Powerpoint can't read c:/folder name/filename.

My client resaved the file and resent. No change. She placed it on a secure Web site from which I could download. I tried opening it directly from the Web site and then downloading. In both cases I received the same error. I don't think the file is corrupted since others on the team in different locations can open it without problem

My computer is a Dell Dimension running Office XP with the Office 2003 SMB suite. I have no problem with any of the other applications. It's relatively new...purchased in December 2003

Anyone know what may be causing this and how to address? Many thanks in advance for your advise

Open PPT and go to Help/Check for Updates. Install the critical patch.
There's also a new Service Pack for Office 2003, I believe. Install that as
well.

Hi Echo,

Thank you for your response. When I check for updates, I receive that message that "Your Office Products do not need any updates."

Someone mentioned to me to check for updated KB828041 in particular and my system indicates that that update has been downloaded

Any other suggestions are much appreciated

I'm sorry, I can't seem to locate the original question. Can you repost it
to this thread?
