Is there a way to use a live video feed as the background to a PowerPoint
(probably 2000 or 2002) presentation? If not, do you know what kind of
program could accomplish a similar task? I would like to use this in a
church setting with live video feed of the band on the screen and the words
to the music imposed over them.

What Kraves said. But ...

Do you have two projectors? Run the video feed out of one and your lyrics out
of the other (white text on a black background).

The PowerPoint option is to use the OfficeFX add-in
(www.instant-effects.com). You can insert a video background and provided
you have the proper equipment to route video to specified source. This
option is not the most economical or technolically simple - but the results
are fantastic.

Second option, and most common, is to run the PowerPoint as high-contrast
presentation with background being a solid green. The background can be then
be chrome keyed out with a video mixer so it only shows the non-green text
over the second signal, which would be your video feed of the band. This
option just requires the PPT be prepared properly and a simple video board
with ability to mix two signals.
