Powerpoint and offline files

We have come across a problem with offline files and Powerpoint. We are
running Win2K SP4 with Office XP. When the user is offline he is unable to
save .ppt files to his offline files cache area with the following error
message: F:\presentation.ppt already exists and cant be replaced.

This only happens when the user is offline.
Any ideas?

While I don't know why this is happening, I will offer some advice about
getting around the problem. I would suggest storing the presentation on the
local hard drive and then using Explorer to copy it, whether on-line or
off-line. PowerPoint is notorious for not working well with network drives,
as the amount of traffic generated will cause network slow downs, etc.

Just my two cents :)

The workaround is fine but there must be an answer to this. Can anybody
shed any light on this problem?

I have an update to this problem. This only happens on Windows 2000
machines. I can save files to the offline cache area on a machine running
W2K SP4 and Office 2002 (10.4205.4219) SP2 when offline.
