PowerPoint 97

I have PowerPoint 97 on my desktop computer. I have a
PowerPoint Document that was created by a newer version
of PowerPoint on an other computer. When I try to open
the document on my computer which is PowerPoint 97 it
will not open. When I try to open it it says
that "A:\Eli Lilly & Company.ppt". Sorry, this type of
file cannot be opened by PowerPoint. I would like to
know why I cannot open the file.
 
Is it possible that the person who created the presentation put a password
on it? (Newer versions have that capability, but when it is used PPT 2000
and 97 can't open the files.)
