How?
I have tried it and the laptop recognises the projector
is there but as soon as windows 98 loads up it won't
display what the laptop does. Tried Ctrl Fn F5

How do you know the laptop recognizes the projector ?
strange one) Most are normally the 'unique' color key....marked Fn, then one function key...like F5 (depends on laptop).
I've not heard of a Ctrl-Fn-F5 before.
Things to try to find the problem
1) try connecting the cable to the laptop after the machine has started fully
2) try connecting the cable before the laptop is powered on
3) try another cable, or laptop
4) what resolution is the laptop (e.g. XGA 1024x768) can the projector handle that resolution, or can it only handle
SVGA 800x600 pixels
