Hi,

Im looking into a problem for a customer who is using Powerpoint 7.0 for
showing slideshows at exhibitions etc - he is having problems with these
slideshows crashing/locking up the pc. The problem appears at random times
i.e. sometimes it will crash after a few minutes and other times after some
hours - at which point the PC hard locks and has to be reset.

I have tried running the slideshow with the powerpoint viewer from
microsofts website and experience the same problem.

I have seen that pptools website lists this as a known and unfixed
problem.... is this still the case?

Any work arounds?

Ive opened the slideshow in Powerpoint 2000 and saved it out as a web page
thinking that I could run the slides in a web browser instead..... but when
opened in ie6 all I see is the background of the first slide and no text or
transitions occur.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

It's possible that a video driver problem is causing the crashes.

Try this for starters:

Which version of the viewer are you using here, though? There are several
floating around.
You'd want to use the PowerPoint 97 viewer or later.
