powerpoint 2007 snap to grid

I have copied numerous lines and once the new line length is adjusted it no
longer can be adjusted to straight vertical or horizontal. It simply moves
over 0, 90, 180, and 270 grides causing the line to become crooked.

I don't see an upgrade for Powerpoint 2007 to help with this problem.
