I have an associate that can print successfully to a HP Deskjet 6940 through
Word, Outlook, and XP Test Page. When the associate opens PowerPoint and
selects the local USB Deskjet Printer, an error message states "The printer
HP Deskjet 6940 series cannot be found." I can login successfully to the same
XP Professional computer and print the exact PowerPoint file successfully. I
have deleted/recreated the XP profile and still get the same error. I have
tried replacing templates: PowerP12,PWRPNT10,PWRPNT12. Associate does have
network printers and selecting the HP DeskJet as default does not make a
difference. I appreciate any ideas you may have.

It might be worth trying to disable all Add-Ins, especially those that could
affect a printing process, like Acrobat, other PDF tools, screenshot tools,
etc.

Best regards,
Ute

Thank You Ute. I checked the Add Ins under PowerPoint 2007 and did not locate
any Add Ins. The settings matched my profile.

Thank You Lucy. The Test page names the printer correctly and the test page
matches the test page printed from my profile.

Thank You Steve. The associate does not have administrative rights to install
the printer.
