I am new to using 2007 and am not sure how to ensure that the color palate remains consistent across my document. Is there a way to apply the format (color schemes/palate) from one object or chart to another? I have created the charts in Excel, and the objects in powerpoint. Any help you can provide would be helpful!

As Echo mentions, we can't change the default paste, but it's worth looking
into what changed in the presentation that caused the default to give you
different results.
I'm guessing that your overall presentation uses a different color scheme or
template than the one you used previously, when the default paste did what you
wanted it to do

copy-paste problem
Not sure I can explain what is happening...I open a new blank (white bg etc)
presentation. I copy some word art from a previous presentation that I want
to use in the new one (same color, etc) but when I paste it to the new
presentation the color is from a previous one that I worked on several days
ago. Where have I messed up? Can anyone help? Thanks

Thanks for the quick response guys. Using PowerPoint 2003.
Thanks for the quick response guys. Using PowerPoint 2003. Okay, I have a
presentation that sometimes I like to use side one and the last slide (sort
of my trade mark opening and closing slides) in a new presentation. In the
past I have been able to right click the little slide there on the left,
right click copy, then go to my new presentation and paste without having to
re-do any formatting or anything. However now when I do a paste, the
colors (blue) are from an older presentation that I have used and I have to
re-format all over again. Now Steve, you are correct. When I click paste,
what I copied is there in that blue color with what looks like a little clip
board at the lower right corner. It gives me two options, 1)Keep source
formatting or 2)Use design template formatting. No sweat, I figured those
out and can end up with what I want. This has just recently happening and
looks like use design formatting is the default. Can it be reset to use,
keep source formatting instead? If not, I can live with it since I now know
what to do. Thanks again
Unfortunately, we can't set the default paste behavior.

Re: copy-paste problem
What version of PowerPoint do you have
Check the Color Scheme for the current slide.
Also when you paste, do you see a little icon by one of the lower corners of
the newly pasted WordArt? If so, click that and experiment with the different
formatting options that appear. Generally when you paste, you can choose to
keep the formatting as is or let it adapt to the overall formatting of the
current presentation.
