Shapes are not working properply, v.g., the curve tool only draws straigth
lines. This does not occur in Word 2007 though.

Looks like a bug. It doesn't happen in Word 2007, because Word doesn't
implement the new Office drawing engine fully. It actually uses for
shapes still the same drawing engine as Word 2003. PowerPoint and Excel
do though.
I just bugged it. Did you notice any other shapes that are not working
correctly?
Good catch!

Thanks,

Patrick Schmid

Yeah, the scribble and freehand tools are not working either.

Another bug: draw a vertical line. Then click in one of the ends and press
shift to try to extend the line without chaning the rotation. When you do
that, the line will be drawn to almost + (or -) inifnity! :) This also
happens with horizontal lines. Strangely enough, it does not occur with any
other type of lines.

PowerPoint's other bugs
friends:
did you find other bugs in PowerPoint 2007? PowerPoint 2007 will be a best
tool.
It has many useful function.especially bellow:
1. font effects
2."change picture"
Aboves are revolutionary. Before 2007 cannot but use photoshop to get text
with outline,glow etc. functions.
"change picture" function help alter picture without losing animation.

But I found many bugs, such as
1. When I type character It will immediately exit without save.
2. when save png format picture the picture will lose transparency. The
transparency will become white.
3.PowerPoint 2007 's speed is too slow than before, especially when the file
size is big and inserting many picture.
4. Screen Can not refresh correctly.
5. lack "background save as..." function.
6. the Text applying effect glow can't be setup and the default glow effect
is
too poor than photoshop.

I don't know how to report bugs to Microsoft,Please someone tell me.

Regarding 1 & 3: disable all add-ins and try again (Office button, PPT
options, Add-ins). 1 shouldn't be happening and 3 might be consequence
of some add-in.

2: can you give exact steps please?
3 & 4: sounds like beta performance issues to me that should be resolved
by RTM. Please see if you still have those problems once the next beta
version is made available (no idea when that will happen).
5: all saves should allow you to keep working at the same time
6: can you elaborate?

In addition to Patrick's comments...

2 is a known issue. Should be fixed by RTM, if not by Beta 2 Technical
Refresh.

4. Might be related to video driver/hardware acceleration issues. I know my
old system had trouble particularly with transparencies and gradients, and
PPT 2007 is chock full of those. I'd try changing hardware acceleration. How
to set graphics hardware acceleration back
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00129.htm

5. Do you mean "allow fast saves"? Yes, this has been removed, but there
really shouldn't be a need for it. Or did you mean something else?

6. Unfortunately, glows and reflections settings cannot be customized.
