Can someone please tell me why Powerpoint 2002 files
compress so greatly and Powerpoint 2003 files do not?
Everything application-wise seems identical, yet the 2003
files are (can be) extremely large.

Any thoughts? My Director wants to know the answer.

Thank you!

Assuming that PowerPoint 2003 is relatively new on your system, have you done
the following?

1. Installed the Critical Update? Go to Help > Check for Updates.
2. Turned off Fast Saves? Go to Tools > Options > Save and turn it of and
leave it off.
3. Are you by any chance "down saving" your file? PowerPoint 2002 and 2003
share the same format, so always save as Presentation(*.PPT).
4. Have you followed all of the advice in these FAQs?

Do this before using PowerPoint seriously

Don't do this with PowerPoint. Seriously.
