Powerpoint 2003 Hyperlinks

I can create hyperlinks to other external files, ojn the same network, that
work in a slide show, however when I save the slide show the hyperlinks are
changed from \\Gilliam\quality........etc to \.\.\.\quality.......etc. and
do not work. Anyone any ideas?
 
Which version of PowerPoint?

Ahh did you get your issue fixed? I am having the same issue on my work
network. I can link to another drive on the network and the link works;
however, when I save the PP file, the link breaks and the network drive name
changes to \...\...\ The rest of the link is correct once it is past the
network drive name (points to correct folder and file).
 
Anyone have an idea how to fix this issue? I am at a total loss.

To recap, hyperlinks to files on network drives change from \\"drive
name"\"file to open" to \\...\"file to be opened" after I hit save in
PP. Once the links are changed, the hyperlinks no longer work. As I
mentioned, this only occurs after I hit Save, links work fine before this.
 
PowerPoint is not the best at hyperlinking. The best thing to do is to copy
those files in the same folder as the presentation to the files you want to
link, and then hyperlink to them. You also may want to have a look at
