Hi
Hope you can help. Tried Googling this, but getting lots of 'noise' and no
help. Obviously need better search words!

Is it possible to vary the size of the text on the screen for the "Outline"
tab in Normal view?

I have a visually impaired person working with me and would like to
increase the text size on screen.

This is in the Outline pane that is tabbed with the Slide pane on the left
(usually) in Normal view.

Many thanks in advance

Stuart

Stuart,

There are some options...

First, while in the outline view, you may be able to actually use the zoom
feature to zoom in on text. It works here for PowerPoint 2003. Also, there
is a "Show Formatting" button that may make the view better. Apart from
that, Glenna is around sometimes and her area is accessibility.

Hi Stuart,

The outline pane is configured to be a percentage of the size of the actual
text on the slide. If you change the size of the text on the slide, it also
changes the size of the text in the outline pane. Glen's suggestion is
perfect for what you want. With the cursor in the outine pane, click on the
drop down arrow for the box on the toolbar showing the percentage (Zoom) and
increase the percentage to increase the viewing size of the text in the
outline pane. Down side is it will default back to 65% when you close
PowerPoint, so it has to be done each time PowerPoint is opened.

Hope this help,

Many thanks to Glen and Glenna for these suggestions.

Yes, but it's a bit obscure.

First, make sure that the Outlining toolbar is visible (choose View, Toolbars
and put a check next to Outlining).

On the Outlining toolbar click the Show Formatting button (it's the last button
on the bottom or right of the toolbar, depending on where it's docked).

Click once in the outline pane to make sure it's active.

Now you can use View, Zoom to set a higher zoom level, which will enlarge the
text considerably.
