When I purchased my laptop, it only came with the home
version of MS Office XP without PowerPoint. Can I obtain
just PowerPoint 2002 and install it into the Office
group? If so, where can I get it?

Thanx, JP

Yes, you can purchase stand-alone PPT from any software retailer (online
or bricks and mortar). However, you'll need to make sure that you get
the full version of PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP), *NOT* the upgrade version.
Office XP Small Business Edition (which doesn't include PPT) is not an
upgrade qualifier for PPT 2002 (aka XP).

However. Office 2003 will be released on October 21. The various
versions of Office XP are upgrade qualifiers for Office 2003. Also,
Office 2003 Small Business Edition *DOES* include PPT 2003. So, for less
than the price of purchasing full stand-alone PPT 2002, you can actually
upgrade your whole Office suite and get PPT in the process.

There it explains that you can upgrade to Office 2003 Small Business
Edition (which includes PPT) for $279. Or you can purchase just the PPT
2003 Upgrade for $109.

So if you can wait just a little while longer, I'd suggest that's your
best course of action.
