Hello all,

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have been using
Powerpoint 2002 with flash integrated within it, without
many problems. We did however expirence I weird quirk
where the flash autostart would reset to false after
changes had been made. We inserted some VB to fix that and
all appeared fine.

Now we have a client who is making many of the same types
of changes we are and everything keeps crashing.
Powerpoint will freeze giving the error (unexplained
errors have occurred PP will now close) as well as people
saying that their system just ups and reboots.

I have talked with their IT who insist they have the
latest office service packs. What I can't explain is why
it appears to work fine on our end and then doesn't on
theirs. This makes it very hard to debug.

We essentially create the templates and they use them for
presentations, modify, add etc. I have told them to take
out the VB code but that appears to not help. We get the
occasional crash but I have grown to expect that from PP.

Any help or ideas / incompatiblities would be great.

Thanks

-Cameron

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

Did you know that you can automatically send a crash Microsoft nearly any
time an Office 2002 or Office System 2003 application crashes?

When the crash occurs a crash reporting dialog will appear with a message
that begins something like: "Microsoft Office <application> has encountered
a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

When this occurs:

1) Click on "What data does this report contain?
2) Note down the following information:

* AppName:
* AppVer:
* AppStamp:
* ModName:
* ModVer:
* ModStamp:
* fDebug:
* Offset:

3) There might also be a "bucket" number. If so, note down that number as
well.
3) Click "Close"
4) Click "Send Error Report

If you post the information noted in steps 2 and 3 above to this newsgroup
I might be able to verify whether or not this is already a known issue and,
if it's known, possibly a way to avoid or fix the problem in the future.
