The clip that I need to include in my presentaion is .ram
file. (I know, I know, but it's the only play the
organization will make it available for use.)

Any suggestions on how to either convert it to a useful
format or tips on how to 'sneak' it in?

I've tried the demo version of a couple conversion
programs, but they won't convert correctly, so I'm not
about to spend money on the registered version!

Thanks so much!

A Ram file is as a metafile that links your Web page to your Real Media
clip.
when you open the Ram file with a text editor, you may see like this:

rtsp://helixserver.example.com/my_video.rm
http://www.example.com/my_video.rm
file://my_video.rm

so my_video.rm is what you want to convert.

More, you can insert Ram file into Powerpoint 2002 directly,

Insert->Objects->Realplayer G2 Control

rightclick the inserted control -> property

Controls: ImageWindow
Source: file://driveletter:\...\yourfile.ram
