I have upgraded recently to Windows XP from Windows ME. It
appears that the Powerpoint Slideshow no longer works.
Powerpoint loads and is shown on the task bar, but nothing
happens (this is a .pps file). If I specifically open the
file from Powerpoint (not by clicking the extension
association), I can view each individual slide. They are
listed on the left side in ascending number sequence.
However, no effort to start the slide show works. The same
file works fine on Windows 98 SE.

Any clue as to what is wrong? My Office 2000 is all up to
date.

Thanks

I suspect your default view is set to multiple monitors. In PPT's
regular edit view, go to Slide Show/Setup Show and set it to Display
Slide Show on Primary Monitor.
