I try and start PowerPoint 2000 and I keep getting an error saying "riched20.dll" can't be loaded. Any ideas?

This is a file used to help edit Rich Text. The stuff I've seen on it
suggests the error is generated by a faulty load on the program that is
calling this dll (sub-program), rather than the dll itself. I would try a
detect and repair on all the office programs, but start with PowerPoint,
since this is where the error occurs.

If this fails, perhaps a reload on the entire office suite may be in order,
unless someone else has a better suggestion.

This references 97, but it may be relevant here, too.

Office 200 SR-1/1a might also fix it.

You might also look at
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;EN-US;q308360 and try
the fixes there. I think that whatever you have to do to "rebuild"
post-NIMDA to fix FRetry SDM Errors also might fix damaged Riched20.dll
or load.exe files as well. Definitely a long shot, though. (And FWIW,
the FRetry SDM Errors were around before NIMDA, so it doesn't mean your
computers are infected. This article just happens to be where I can find
it documented in the MSKB.)
