powerpack cabling

I am building a p.c and have inserted some known connections from the
power pack to the motherboard, My questio, can connections from the
powerunit go to any like pin on the motherboard, as there are more than
one of each type of pin connector. I know the 4 pin power to the
drives, are all the same, will this also apply to the others.?
