Powercolour Radeon 9800SE on Sony CPD-G520 Text Shimmering!

As above, running 1280 X 1024 and 100hz, on the recently replaced geforce4
ti4400 the text display was fine.
Just days ago updated to this ati card (which by the way is clocked to pro
speed out of the box) and the text seems to swim/shimmer.

Any fixes for this?

not sure on the shimmer thing...are you sure your monitor is set to right
refreshrate? Try dropping your refresh to 85 as 100 may be pushing things
too hard and truthfully you only really need to get above 72hz to avoid
flicker/eyestrain especially since can disable Vsync via the drivers so it
wont hinder you on FPS. Also FYI even if the SE is clocked at Pro speed just
remember it has only 1/2 the pipes of a pro so do not be suprised if it
doesnt get to pro score lvl as se means a Special Edition (also read as
Value Edition)

Mike,

There is a shimmer fix within Rage3D Tweak V3.9. I'm not sure its relevant
to your problem but it might be worth a look.

Thanks for the info, but i think there is no non pro 9800's sold in
australia but se versions. (this one actually says in manual and advertised
as 8-pixel pipe)

Reading around a bit there is some issues with trinitron monitors with ati
cards. (changing refresh rates makes no difference) And the fact the old
ti4400 worked fine at all frequencies confirms this.
