Hi.

Just bought a new config.
Asus p4c800, 1Go 3200ddr, 1 sata 120Go DD radeon 9700 pro.
When I turn on, nothing happens, except a green led lighning on the mother
board. No fan runs, no disk boots.
Even the alim fan doesnt start.
Is this normal?
I tried to run the power supply unplugged from the puter, alone, and even
there the fan doesnt run.

Is there a kind of fan regulation that makes it doesnt work? Or really the
power supply is out?

You ARE pressing the power switch on the FRONT of the case to turn it on,
right? The switch IS connected to the mainboard?

Switching the power supply at the back of the PC should NOT turn on the PC
(normally)

Yes I did. But nothing happened.
I'm trying to understand. First I'd like to know wiether a power supply can
work alone or not, I mean out of the computer, and unplugged from the
computer. I tried that, its fan didnt even work. Is that normal?
The only thing that changes when I turn on my puter is the green led on the
mother board that lightens. If I unplugged the main alim from the mainboard,
it doenst work. So at least there's some power out of the supply.
But even the cpu fan doesnt move, and no beep.. :((
Helppp!!

Its ok :))
I had installed the start button cables in a wrong way.
But now I got another problem :/
I only have a sata hd. And its impossible for the system to recognize it.
Well at the boot its written on the screen sata maxtor 120Go hd.. but when
windows starts to install, I'm told at the beginning there's no HD aviable..
NB: I've forgotten to buy any floppy drive. Maybe I'd need one to boot on
dos and run fdisk and format? But that wouldnt format my hd in nstc format..
And its unworking day in france today, hotline is off :((

What OS are you trying to install? If it is 2000 or XP, you need to
have a floppy drive so you can press f6 at the proper time and install
the drivers needed to install the OS.

I'm sure you mean the drivers for the SATA controller.
