I have found out that my Power Supply unit is on it's way out...... the fan
is making some funny noises, anyway I have decide to get a new one...

Could anyone tell me what power I should go for?

My pc is a Athlon 600 with a Gigabyte mobo, The one that's in at the moment
is 250watt. I can get a 350watt low noise for £25.00?

Also when I get a new power supply and it's the 350watt one will I have to
change any settings in the BIOS?

If you want the cheapest one possible, the generics will do the job but they
usually break after about a year. If you want something quiet and good, get
something with dual fans on it (one on the bottom for sucking air in and one
on the back for blowing air out). A sign of quality are fan grates that are
rounded, not just punched metal.

You shouldn't have to change anything. Just plug it in and enjoy :-)

No settings changes will be needed. If your PC is running fine with a
250W PSU, then anything 250W or above will probably do the job nicely.
You might want to plan for the future, though, as in planning for your
next upgrade. As such, make sure you get a P4 compatible PSU (almost
all of them are these days, they have the extra 4pin power connector for
the P4 motherboards) and perhaps a 350W or above brand name model from
Antec or Enermax. I'm delighted with my Antec TruePower 380.

Get the 350, or more if you intend on upgrading the Mobo/CPU.

You will not have to make any system adjustments whatsoever.
