Hi,

I'm planning to setup a new system with a GeForce 8800 GTX as video card,
can anyone recommend me a good power supply ?

Thanks,
Matthias

If you give a list of *all* the hardware in the computer, it might be
easier to tell if you need a 350W supply, or a 600W supply. If we don't
know the rest of the hardware, then guessing would be useless.

The 8800 cards use somewhere around 145W, as measured by xbitlabs.
So they are pretty power hungry. Part of the power flows through the
PCI Express slot connector, and the rest flows through the connector
on the end of the card. It means you need a pretty good source of
+12V on the power supply.

The best quality, most rugged conservative construction can be found in
ANTEC brand PSU's. I would get the Antec 650 Watt Trio model for use with
that video card.
