Alright guys,

I am in the market for a new and improved power supply, Firstly i know your gonna say get a Targan, Enermax or Antec. Thats cool coz thats what i am gonna get!

Had a read of the review that Flops did on the Targan TG480-U22 on the left, very informative.

Am i right in saying that they all have the same kind of connections? I dont have SATA or Raid (not yet anyway!)

My spec -
XP3200 athlon
Gigabyte GA7VT600-L
2x 512 gig RAM PC3200
ATI 9800 S.E (Next thing to be upgraded!) :D
2x 120gig IDE H.D's
Floppy and DVD Drives
And 2 fans running off the PSU.

As long as its silent or very near i'll be happy!

Is there anything i need to be mindful of other than what i've said already?

Cheers in advance guys + gals!

Anyone!? :)

Any advice would be very helpful!

There are several things to consider when looking at PSU connections.

SATA connectors is one of them. And there are no dedicated connectors for RAID, RAID is just two, maybe four, hard disks connected together through hardware & software.

Some newer motherboards require two 12V 4 pin connectors.

Latest grafix cards require dedicated SLI power connectors, look for two, in case you ever want to run two cards in tandem.

The Tagan 480W PSU I reviewed meets all those requirements.

As will most modern PSU's, but it's certainly worth checking out before purchase.

Nice one thanks a lot for the help guys. :thumb:

My plan is that i get one that will be kinda future proof, so i can use it when i upgrade the mobo to PCI-E & 64CPU. When i get confident enough to do it myself that is anyway!
Thats why i've been trying not to buy a new graphics card. I only got an AGP slot.

So anyway that sounds like its gonna do the trick, right?

PSD, have you bought stuff from Kotech before? I've never heard of them.

Thanks again for the help, :thumb:

well vanilla Radio

i go there in person to buy from them
i have not had any bad experiences from them

they do a good price matching thing, where if u find the same product cheaper they will try to beat that price
give them a call!
ive been in lots of times now, they always give me their lowest price, i do my best at haggling them!

yes go for Enermax u wont be dissapointed!

Nice, cheers guys and thanks for the info Psd and Flops.
Me thinks i gonna get it soon then. Thanks again :)
