Hello!
I am trying to find a way to make a shortcut that will activate the monitor
power saver instead of waiting for it to time out.
I want to be able to click the shortcut and have the monitors go into power
saver mode immediately.

I found the one to lock the keyboard, but haven't had any luck on the
monitor power saver.

Any ideas?
Random thoughts?

Thanks
Mark

Using this:

NirCmd: Freeware Command-Line Tool:
http://nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html

Then the appropriate shortcut pointed to "nircmd.exe monitor off" would turn
it off... Err... Turning it back on would require pushing the button I
*think?* I don't really know, never tried that.

Fantastic!!
This is exactly what I was looking for.
I just made a batch file and now I can click it to turn off the monitors.
Just move the mouse or hit a key and they come back on.

Thanks a bunch!

You could also try a program such as SSSwitch which will let you instantly activate your screen saver or monitor power mode by
placing the cursor in a corner.

Ah so moving the mouse will wake it back up. That's what I wasn't sure about
as I'd never tried. Glad to have helped.
