Power requirements for system components

I shall be glad to know know where I can find the standard or average power
requirments (wattage) of various system components - CPU, memory, hard
drives, motherboard and so on.

The accompanying manuals for these devices are often sketchy on the actual
power consumption, but do supply source specifications only. Doing some
research recently I found that this is true for many components! Or, maybe I
did not read things right.

This is for academic interest only though the inquisitiveness was triggered
by some power supply issues we are looking into.

Thanks for any insights.

Regards.

I got this link by Googling for "computer components wattage
requirements":
http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,119585,pg,2,00.asp

You could do the same, maybe varying the search term to get more links.
