Hi all,

Ive got a system here that won't turn on. I know it's not the power supply,
because I put the power supply in another system and it ran just fine as it
should.

In the problem system, the when you hit the power button, the green power
LED lights for a half second, the CPU fan rotates for the same duration,
then nothing.

Couple of questions from here:
1.) This sounds like a motherboard problem, right? I should maybe meter it
and find if / where the problems are?
2.) If there was some kind of short or something, odds are the CPU isnt
affected?

TIA

Sounds like mobo or processor.

Easy test I learned about in another thread. Take the processor out and see
if the fans and lights run. It this is the case it's likely the processor
.... but try another working one to be sure. If it still does the same thing
it's likely the mobo ... but, again, try the processor in another system
first to make sure.
