First, go to My Computer. Click on the Search icon at the top. It looks
like a magnifying glass. Search for POWERPNT.EXE. If you don't find it
then you don't have it.
PowerPoint is a program that comes as a component of most versions of
Microsoft Office. It does not automatically come with every computer, but
must be purchased separately. You can purchase PowerPoint separately at
most stores that sell a good selection of computer software. For example,
in my area of the country it is available at Best Buy, Fryes, CompuUSA,
Office Depot and others.
When you go to the store, ask for PowerPoint 2003, the full version (don't
buy an upgrade). If you don't need the other applications that come with
Office (Word, Excel) then this will meet your needs. The suggested retail
price is $229, but you may find it for less. If you are qualified for the
Student and Educators version, the price is considerably less, so look for
that version on the shelf.
