I have downloaded Microsoft PowerpointViewer 2003. It opens some files
perfectly.,Others it isays the file is corrupted. ( when the file isnt) Is
there a patch for this by any chance? I cannot imagine that I am the only one
with this problem.
Thanks so much!
Lisa

Well, I deal with a lot of people who use the Viewer on a regular basis and this
is the first that I've heard of it falsely reporting corruption. What is the
exact message? If you have a sample file that the Viewer won't open and it
isn't larger than 15MB, you could send it to me at sonia @ soniacoleman . com
(remove the spaces) and I'll take a look at it.

Lisa, your file opens fine in the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer and in PowerPoint 2003.
However, the message you quoted in your email refers to a different filename
than the file you sent me has. Try renaming it to ch01.ppt and then opening
it. Does that make a difference?

Lisa's file won't open for me in the PowerPoint 97 Viewer and when I open it in
PowerPoint 97 it is corrupted - - 54 slides have become 1 slide with a bit of
foreign text. It opens fine for me in the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer and in
PowerPoint 2000, 2002 and 2003.

I round tripped the file (saved it to HTML in PowerPoint 2003, opened the HTML
in PowerPoint 2002 and saved it as .PPT) and now it opens fine in PowerPoint 97
and the 97 Viewer. I have sent the file to Lisa for her to test.

This file seems to be on the road to corruption and depending on how you hold
your head and whether you sit up straight, it will or will not open in the
PowerPoint 2003 Viewer.

They'll need to be "round tripped" too, if the problem is the same. At least
it's worth a shot. You said your husband has PowerPoint 2002. Perhaps he can
do it for you.

Well, this has worked. My Husband hs sent me the files using this method and
no more corruption.
Thanks for all of your help Sonia!
