I can create a slide presentation with background music. It all plays fine
on my computer. However when I send it to someone else, the music isn't
included with the PPS attachment - just the pictures. It has something to do
with embedded or linked - I think. Am I saving it wrong (pps)? I understand
the problem - the music is only on my computer - how do I package it to be
included in the PPS that I send out as one attachment?
Thanks

Change the sound file to WAV and hope it does not exceed the limits you have
set under Tools, Options, General. Else, the file must accompany the
presentation.

It is a mp3 - how do I convert it to .wav? AND - when I save it as a pps
file will it automatically attach so when I e-mail it to someone all they
have to do is click on it and it all plays - pictures & music. Mine plays
fine on my computer, but when I send it, they don't get the music just the
slides I get them all the time from others and the music AND slides play
fine??
Thanks for your help

You are a genius - I think I made it work WOW. You can't imagine how many
hours I've spent trying to figure this out
Thanks

I've got one more problem. I save my Power Point Presentation as a .pps
file but when I send it to myself, or others they get the entire program
(with the numbered slides on the left) - so they get the whole program that I
developed it in, not just the .pps presentation. It's like I'm sending them
the .ppt file, not the .pps file - but I'm not ????
Thanks

That is the way it is designed. the only difference between a .ppt file and
a .pps file is the way they open And this all being dependent on how each
computers file associations are set up. By default pps files should open
full screen slide show mode.

There is no difference between a pps and a ppt. The extension simply tells
PPT to either open in play more or in edit mode.

How can I tell others how to set up their files associations so they when
they get a .pps file from me, it doesn't open as a .ppt.? (your comment
about file associations)

You shouldn't have to. by default PowerPoint when installed sets this up
automatically.

When I include a .wmv (movie clip) to my .pps presentation, it plays fine on
my computer but is not attached to my presentation when I send it out. Does
it have to be converted or something so it is included in my presentation?
Thanks
Greg

Movies are never embedded in a presentation. They are always a separate
file. You should put the .wmv file into the same folder as the presentation
before you "insert" the movie. Then, when you send the presentation, you
have to send both the .ppt file and the .wmv file.

So when I send it out I would attach the .pps and the.wmv to my e-mail? But
when they open the .pps file will the .wmv file open automatically or do they
have to try and open both at once?? If so how do they coordiinated that?
thanks

They should save both files to their hard drive, and the WMV will run
from within the PPT. If you are having trouble emailing a file, you might
try PFCExpress (available for free at http://pfcmedia.com/).

Again, have you tried using the free add in PFCExpress? It really does take
care of all these issues.
