Power point slide length

I have a text slide with 35 lines of copy that uses
custom animation ascend. (similar to intro on star wars).
Problem is, the slide stops scrolling at about line 20
and I can't figure out how to make it continue. I am
trying to avoid using two slides because of the sudden
blank between slides. Can the length of the slide playing
time (length) be increased. Does custom animation limit
this option?

Thank You

Greg

Greg,

Not certain where the problem might be without looking at it. But, I just
have to ask, why would you ever put that much text on one slide? Do you
really think anyone in the audience can possibly remember all of it?

Greg,

As a guess, you have all text in text box that is animated. The animation is
most likely fly-in from bottom (or crawl or motion path) and the text is
positioned off the slide. These animations do not animate line 5 of text up
to the position of line 1 - so most likely all of your text is animating,
but it is animating off the slide.

You can download the Star Wars sample here
(http://www.tlccreative.com/ppt_tutorials.htm) and note how the paragraph
line properties were adjusted to "clump" the text up high so the animation
would work.

Again, based on your description I am just taking a guess as to what the
issue may be - if additional assistance is needed, reply with more details
(what version of PPT, what animations applied, etc).

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Greg,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.
However, you can get something fairly close to the scrolling Star Wars text
effect in PowerPoint 2003 by combining several different types of animation
effects (one text box per paragraph, motion path up, grow/shrink, fade).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that PowerPoint
should have a specific animation effect (or be able to create a specific
effect by combining others and without having to resort to VBA or add-ins),
don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft
at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
